Hazel Park Arts Council

Soon after moving to Hazel Park, I wanted to get involved in our amazing community. I love the arts, so I thought joining the Arts Council made the most sense for me. Since joining council, I’ve been elected to the executive board as Secretary and serve on the Art Fair planning committee.

In our meetings, we frequently discussed a need for a new website, so I built one using Squarespace. Previously, the organization had two separate websites: HPArt.org and HPArtFair.org - one for the council itself, and one for their event, the Hazel Park Art Fair. To simplify the new site, I combined both sites into one with a nested navigation that housed information on both the organization and the fair. I also integrated a community calendar widget, which allows local artists to upload events they’re attending so we can promote them.

In order to promote the Art Fair, I designed a billboard, Instagram ads and organic posts, flyers, and social media posts, which you can see below.
